Greetings from a veteran gamer who cut his teeth on the NES and SNES! While work and family (an awesome wife who loves games almost as much and four soon-to-be gamer kids!) keep me busy, the fire of gaming still burns bright.

I’m one of the many who migrated from 1UP, and I hope to keep the blogging spirit alive here. Be warned, I tend to ramble a bit and have a deep love for game soundtracks (so hopefully that’s your cup of tea!).

• Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross: A time-traveling duo with unforgettable stories and music.
• Mass Effect: A sprawling space opera with impactful choices.
• Resident Evil 4: Survival horror at its finest, with a healthy dose of cheese.
• Star Fox 64: Do a barrel roll! Nostalgic space combat with friends.
• Basically anything by Treasure: Creativity and pure joy in video game form.

Speaking of soundtracks, as a gamer whose roots go back to the NES days, melody is very important in my music. I believe catchy tunes and memorable hooks are essential for creating a soundtrack that stays with players long after they put down the controller.
